2 Unlimited pulls it of again!

Travelling, flying, running. Romy and Marion of 2 Unlimited live in top gear now that Wanna Get Up is in the hitparades. Did the girls get over the initial shock? Break Out! went looking for them and asked them about success, lovers and plans.

Wanna Get Up is rising to the top. Did you ever expect you would be so successful immediately?
Romy: 'Not in the Netherlands. The image of Ray and Anita still lives here very much. We expected to get quite a lot of attention as the new 2 Unlimited. But we never expected everyone to be so excited about Wanna Get Up. We've had forty requests for performances in the Netherlands within two weeks!'
Marion: 'It's going really hard. Lots of performances and little sleep. And lots of travelling.'

Your boyfriends must be fed up with it. Now the great success has started, they won't see you anymore, is it ?!
Marion: 'Boyfriends? We're both single! I'm so very busy with my music. Beside 2 Unlimited, I'm in two other bands. I haven't even had the time to think of boys.'
Romy: 'The same with me. With who could I ever build a good relationship in this odd circumstances? Besides, I mostly like only a few men. But Marion... she'll soon be off with some rich sheikh!'
Marion: 'No I'm not! It doesn't matter to me if a guy has money or not. He only has to be sweet and care about me. I don't care about appearance. If a guy happens to be a little tough, even a bald one is good to me!'
Romy: 'Intelligence is important, but he also must be good-looking! And he must have his own life. I don't want a boy sitting at home waiting for me.'

Are you already accustomed to the rapid pop world?
Romy: 'That happens very quick. Behind the scenes we've been busy for a long time with the preparations on 2 Unlimited. Then you'll get used to it. Besides, I've sung with artists before. With 100% Isis and TOF. Besides that, I've hosted a programme with Adam Curry once, I've been a model. And they used my voice in recordings for commercials. The most known? Only Schweppes has Shhhh!'
Marion: 'In the meantime we're used to the performances. But sometimes we're surprised at interviews. When we were in Russia, a journalist asked us: Do you sometimes think of killing someone? His next question: Do you like Russian men? And he ended with: Do you like me? What on Earth do you say to that?!'

What can we expect from you shortly?
Romy: 'An album! A few friends have already heard some songs and they thought they sound even better that Wanna Get Up. You're no way done with us yet! We hope...'
